On January 11, 2012 just after 8:00 am the Surrey RCMP received a 911 call to attend the rear alley of the 12800 block of 92 A Avenue in Surrey for what appeared to be an unconscious male lying in the alley.
The Surrey RCMP attended along with the BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) and located a male who appeared to be in medical distress.
BCAS transported the male to the hospital where he remained on life support for several hours. He was pronounced deceased by Doctors shortly after 3:00 pm this day.
The injured male, a 41 year old Surrey resident, appears to have sustained injuries consistent with a homicide and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken conduct of the investigation.
Until the next-of-kin have been notified by IHIT the victim’s identity will not be released. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigators are currently processing the scene and canvassing the area in order to speak with witnesses and move towards locating who is responsible for this death.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is asking anyone who may have information about this homicide to come forward and speak with investigators.
