One Male Deceased after Attending a House Party

Surrey:  The victim of the homicide from a house party on Christmas Eve has been identified as 28 year old Surrey resident, Bradley McPherson.

The next-of-kin have been notified and Susan, the mother of Brad, has provided an updated photo of him along with the following quote:

“My family and I would like to address the community and ask anyone who has any information into who is responsible for this to come forward.  Bradley was a fun loving man who loved his family and he was in no way involved in illegal activity. This was a senseless act which has taken a son away from his mother forever.”

The McPherson family is attempting to deal with the loss of Brad and are asking that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team continues to look into the details leading up to his death and are still looking to speak with the people that attended this party.

Further Details

On December 24, 2011 just after 4am the Surrey RCMP received a call to attend a residence in the 13100 block of 67A Ave. for a male who had been shot.

Surrey RCMP attended along with BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) and located a 28 year old deceased male.  The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was then called in to assist and has since taken conduct of this investigation.

Although it appears the male died due to a gunshot wound the cause of death will ultimately be determined and confirmed through an autopsy.

The victim does not have a criminal record and the next-of-kin have yet to be notified, therefore, the victim’s name is not being released at this time.

“The investigation is in the very early stages but it appears the victim was attending a house party at a residence in the 13100 block when he was shot.” says Sgt. Jennifer Pound

There have been no arrests and police are canvassing the area and speaking with potential witnesses who may shed some light onto the events leading up to the victim’s death.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is asking anyone who was in attendance at this party, or anyone who may have information about this homicide, to come forward and speak with investigators
