Granville Skytrain Station Sexual Assult

The suspect entered the Granville Street Skytrain Station via the Bay department store entrance and went down the escalator. He got to the bottom landing just as the unsuspecting but targeted victim began to take the up escalator.

The suspect immediately got onto the same escalator and followed the victim. At the top landing, the suspect abruptly walked in front of the victim blocking her way and pulling her off to the side against the railing. The suspect then sexually assaulted her.

Shortly thereafter, the suspect forced the victim back onto the "down" escalator. At the bottom landing the victim broke free and the suspect left toward the eastbound Skytrain platform.

The victim returned to the top of the escalator where she immediately reported the attack to the police.

A swift and extensive police response took place however, area, train and station searches conducted, failed to locate the sex assault suspect. He remains outstanding and unidentified.

Suspect Description

Middle Eastern male, early 20's, 5'4", slender athletic build, dark short hair, spoke English poorly. He was wearing a black long sleeve top with the sleeves pulled back, faded blue jeans, white runners and carrying a black jacket in his left hand.
