1978 Mercury Cougar

Crime Stoppers and some youth from the Penticton Indian Band are embarking on a project to rebuild a 1978 Mercury Cougar that will be used for community parades, events and awareness. We have had tremendous support from businesses in Penticton to offer their support in various ways i.e. parts, paint, mentorship and skills instructions for the youth. The main purpose of this project is to raise the awareness of Crime Stoppers within all communities but specifically within the Penticton Indian Band community with their youth. Another spin off that we hope will be realized is that some of these youth may find a career in the automotive field as a result of this exposure and opportunity to be involved in a "hands on" project. Penticton Towing has been very instrumental in moving this forward so Crime Stoppers is hoping that all businesses that participate will receive the appropriate recognition throughout the duration as well as the youth that are working on the project.
